Hey QOHP supporters and fans!  David here…

With the healthy donations we’ve received in our last fundraising campaign, I managed to get a humble Mac Mini to start the editing process again. While in San Francisco at the end of September, I also managed to get another five AMAZING interviews from folks in the BDSM/leather community during Folsom weekend.  It was such a rare treat. Now that we have a brand new computer to process and store all of our interviews, this project will start to really show what it’s all about. Stay tuned for more interviews!

Additionally, our $199 Vimeo Pro membership had come to an end recently. We didn’t quite have enough in our account to cover another year, so an anonymous donor stepped in and matched the $100 left in our account to keep our videos hosted on Vimeo. It’s a pricey service but one we definitely need… at least until we can find some servers of our own down the road. (That’s more like a Phase Three kinda step).

But in the meantime, we are pushing toward incorporating as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization so that future donations will be tax deductible. Our goal is to have this filing complete by the end of the calendar year!

Some other goals we plan to accomplish are some basic tutorial videos on lighting, sound and how to interview people—and make it an awesome video overall. These are people’s lives we’re recording, after all. I think these stories deserve the best treatment possible, don’t you?

As always, we’re still looking for volunteers to assist with the editing process. Thanks to another gracious donor, we now have access to a HUGE Dropbox account that will make it possible for you to help with the editing flow. If you’re interested, send me an email at david@qohp.org.

Thank you again for your patience and support. The last couple months have been challenging because of the move but I’m getting into a good flow again. More to come!

— David
